What have I been watching?

The basic idea of this page is that I watch a lot of stuff that I don’t write about, and don’t really want to write much about, but still want to mention. So on this page, I’m going to just have a list of what I’ve watched lately and a few comments about what I think of it. I’ll bullet point each and write the date, but it’s not really worth making an individual post for every single one since they won’t be very long or very interesting, so I’ll update the page when I watch something.  Check back in here if you ever decide you care about what I have viewed lately.

  • 06/08/2017 – Attack on Titan (First ep aired 2013)

I put off watching this anime for a really long time, because I had heard really great things about it and I wanted to make sure that I watched it at a time when I could really appreciate it, and that time finally came. It only took me a couple weeks to watch it all, which I know is pretty slow but I’ve been watching other stuff too, and to be honest, I’m glad I waited. Sure, I would probably have liked it just as much as if I watched it sooner, but then I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy it right now.

I vaguely knew the premise before starting, but literally, all I knew was that there were Titans and they … attacked. So everything else was new information to me. I didn’t realise that they just ate everyone, but I guess it makes sense in a way. What I wasn’t expecting though was just how many of the characters actually died. They just drop like flies and I felt like they were going to run out of characters after a few episodes, and then someone else would die and you’d realize they were someone you liked. Then 10 more would die.

But, despite the dwindling character list, I still didn’t expect the ending. Of course, it seems relatively obvious now, there wasn’t really anyone else it could have been if you think about it, but at the time I had no idea.

And now we wait for season 2 to come on Netflix.

  • 10/07/2017 – Hannibal (First ep aired 2013)

Pretty interesting plotlines and It’s really impressive that the Hannibal character is so likeable despite being very upfront about being a cannibalistic murderer.

  • 10/07/2017 – Orange Is The New Black (First ep aired 2013)

I love this show because it’s amazing and it’s as simple as that. One thing that I have to mention though is Thank the Lord that they aren’t focusing so much on Piper and Alex anymore. Piper has her moments, but in general, she just irritates me, and Alex was totally cool until Piper made her really irritating too. No amount of hotness can counteract hor annoying they got. Right now, they are okay but I’m really glad they are no longer the focal point of the show.

  • 7/7/2017 – Independence Day (1996)

Oh my God, It’s so good. This is greatness right here. I’ve seen this several times, but I try to not over watch it, but every time I do decide to watch it again it just blows me away. We all know this is pretty close to perfection, it’s just so epic. And if you haven’t seen it then you gotta. Trust me on this, you gotta watch this film.

  • 7/7/2017 – Moana (2016)

Yeah, I’m pretty obsessed with this, much like many others, but I was a bit late to the party. I always meant to watch it when it came out, but I kept putting it off for this reason and that. It’s actually only pretty recently that I watched it for the first time, and it’s been stuck with me ever since. If it’s not Steven Universe songs stuck in my head, then it’s song from this. And I’m not mad about it, they are really good songs. I just really like this film, it’s so good.

  • 23/06/2017 – The Final Girls (2015)

Super awesome, much less comedy than I was expecting, actually got a bit emotional at times. Great concept, great execution, love the cast, the cinematography was awesome.

  • 23/06/2017 – Classic Doctor Who

I love Doctor who, but when I say that, I mean I love Doctor Who from the relaunch in 2005. But I’ve always been curious about the classic episodes, because you always hear about all this stuff from the Doctor’s past, but we only get mentions of it in the reboot. Now, finally, I am going back to the beginning and exploring the wonderful world of classic Doctor Who. And so far, honestly, it’s pretty good. Not gonna lie, it’s a little slow, which is due to what media was like in that era, but it’s still pretty good and I will be continuing on with it.

  •  23/06/2017 – Steven Universe

I recently (yesterday) finished watching all of Steven Universe so far. If you don’t know what it is, it’s a cartoon from Cartoon Network about a boy called Steven who lives with the Crystal Gems, who protect the earth from other gems using their various magical powers. Generally.

It is a cartoon for children and is therefore not for everyone, but it’s a very good cartoon and adults can definitely enjoy it. And the songs are so fucking catchy.

I love it, I am a definite Steven Universe fan.
